「如果最後陳總統無法說服媳婦返台生產，那麼陳總統應該為當年的言論向競爭對手致歉，還其一個公道。」這是今天看中時網路新聞民意論壇的一句結語。
在這個時候，除了被媒體逼迫，沒有任何政治厲害背景的社會事件當事人（例如娃娃車悶死小孩的園長）會公開道歉之外，有聽說誰會在公開場合上道歉？相較於日本南韓的政治人物，常常以道歉作為累積政治資本的行動來看，台灣的政治人物似乎以能不道歉就不道歉為展示能挺得住，有民意的self-fulfilling prophecy.
兩相對照，之前所引的那句話好像在深夜的老式建築裡，一個迴盪在長廊裡的聲音，沒有人敢回應這個聲音，因為怕自己被別人當作是鬼！如果道了歉，難道不會看到這就是一場戲？把戲裝卸下來，至少演員還可以跟觀眾一起去喝杯酒。如果一直怕自己被「永遠當作鬼」而不出聲，那就真的只能當鬼了。

「世界大財主」
不知道有沒有人聽過這個遊戲？這是我兒時記憶裡第一個玩過的紙盤遊戲，大概是小學一二年級左右吧，在高雄和小阿姨一起玩過的。
今天突然想起這個遊戲，它的玩法就跟大富翁差不多，只不過每個地方換成世界上的國家。這種遊戲似乎成了我最早的世界環境啟蒙。不過現在回想，這真是奇特的遊戲，因為裡面的國家的價格和現實連不起來。並且有種「區域化」的特色。我記得當時夏威夷是裡面最貴的，要4000元才能買到（一開始的資金好像只有兩百元）。但我印象中奇特的是，大部分的非洲國家都被賦予貴得奇特的價格，印象中夏威夷之外，次貴的「國家」叫做「達荷美」，然後是「尼日」，「馬拉威」等等。印象中美國只值一千多元。不知道這個遊戲到底是在什麼樣的國際關係與外交政策下設計出來的。現在想想覺得這類本土性的小遊戲其實可以做一個小型研究，尋找設計轉型和隱含觀點的歷史變化。
唉幽，真的缺乏想像力，回家吃自己啦。

fancy but not efficient (How to save the polar bear from coca-cola?)
Talking about the experience in local library. This library is the richest branck in the local area since it is located in the Jewish community. However, there are lots of energy inefficient examples in this library.
First, the elevator is very small but "fancy" so that lots of people, whether disabled or not, tend to use the elevator anytime it is available. After watching the movie of Inconvenient Truth about global warming, I wonder why don't people actually find a self-conscious way to take the stairs (there are only two floors in this building), and save the energy. It may be just too fancy to resist.
(Whenever people think of the image of polar bear, they probably come across the one that is advertised by Coca-cola, rather than the image of drowning polar bear in the Arctic.)
Second, the library is actually facing the west, which make the whole library full of light in the late afternoon, but I don't see any effort for them to redirect the light by high-tech methods to provide illumination for the interior. The only thing we can see is adding curtains on in order to make the light of reading environment suitable.
These two phenomena I think would be not only in the library, but happen in many other places. Just remember, in 50 years, the statistic shows the possibility that average temparature will rise to the degree that half of the glacier landscapes will be disappeared. When that happens, we don't have the chance to save our life and the ones of polar bears back.
So, walk as much as you can, don't take elevators unless it is critically necessary. Take mass communication (I will definitely do that more myself), and use environmental friendly materials. I hope we all have contributed some efforts to save the lives of polar bear, the real ones.

星期五跑到local的公立圖書館唸書已經成了一種規律。不是學校的圖書館有什麼問題，而是我常常會抱著一大堆書跑，通常想要開車比較方便，也比較容易移動。但是學校附近一直要到星期天才不收錢，所以每每都需要跑到附近最有錢的松鼠丘公立圖書館，因為附近的街道停車不用錢。不過漸漸地，可能因為晚出門吧，現在停車似乎也不容易找。
剛剛念到一半突然有點疑惑，我到底念了什麼？從當初在花蓮念的宗教與儀式，到後來一直想做卻沒有找到好題材作的醫療人類學，到現在作的媒體，這些年我已經花了這麼多時間在念，卻不能想像自己像是老爸當時念博士班的時候，可以把自己所學化成補習班裡的講義，一點一滴的賺回家裡的需要。現在我的人生到底累積了什麼？我做的題目如何能夠延續多年後興趣和自己可以成家的經濟基礎呢？有時候想到這裡，就不禁覺得，我真的知道自己在幹嘛嗎？
